Biography

From a young age, Nyjah Huston showed exceptional talent for skateboarding. Driven by rigorous discipline imposed by his father, he dedicated himself entirely to his passion.

Born November 30, 1994, in Davis, California (USA).

Born to a skateboarding-enthusiast father (Adeyemi) and a mother dedicated to his education (Kelle).

Nyjah Huston started skateboarding from a very young age, encouraged by his father.

He spent part of his childhood living in an isolated community in California before returning to the spotlight and becoming one of the most influential skaters of his generation.

From the 2000s, skateboarding established itself as a key element of urban culture. In 1999, at the age of 5, young Nyjah Huston started skateboarding under the influence of his father, who gave him his first board and encouraged him to train intensively.

He then participated in numerous local competitions, developing a unique style and impressive technique. In 2004, he signed his first sponsorship with Element Skateboards, becoming one of the youngest sponsored skaters in history.

He turned professional in 2006 and gradually joined the biggest international competitions. In 2011, after leaving Element, he founded his own brand, I&I, before briefly returning to Element and definitively establishing himself as one of the most influential skaters of his generation.

Nyjah Huston quickly established himself as a formidable competitor, winning his first gold medal at the X Games in 2011 in the Street category, before repeating the feat multiple times over the years. His powerful and technical style, combined with impressive consistency, allowed him to dominate the biggest competitions, notably the Street League Skateboarding (SLS), which he won on multiple occasions.

Nyjah is known for his audacity and his ability to push the limits of street skateboarding. He is one of the first skaters to land complex tricks like the Caballerial Kickflip Backside Lipslide on imposing rails. His technical approach and total commitment have led him to perform unprecedented tricks in competition, such as Nollie Heelflip Backside Smith Grinds on handrails.

In 2017, he founded his own skatewear brand, Disorder Skateboards, asserting his influence beyond competitions. Always seeking new performances, he continues to push the limits of modern skateboarding and make history in the sport.

Nyjah Huston made his film debut appearing in the iconic documentary “The Motivation” in 2013, which followed his journey and that of other professional skaters during the Street League Skateboarding.

He then reappeared in several skateboarding-related productions, including “Nyjah Huston: Rise & Shine”, a video highlighting his evolution and exceptional performances. His growing influence in skate culture also allows him to be involved in various film and advertising projects, strengthening his status as a modern skateboarding icon.
