Sydney — The Record That Changes Everything
On February 15, Ginwoo Onodera landed 7 tricks at SLS Sydney. All scored above 9. This is an absolute first in Street League history. Never seen before. 9.1, 9.4, 9.1, 9.2, 9.5, 9.0, 9.2 — every attempt in the Nine Club, without exception.
And it was his birthday. 16 years old. The run that redefined what we thought was possible in street skateboarding competition. Ginwoo arrives in LA with this momentum. With this pressure on all other riders — if you want to beat him, you better deliver the best run of your life.
Nyjah Huston: The GOAT Sidelined?
Early January 2026. Nyjah Huston crashes in Arizona. Skull fracture. Orbital fracture. A violent fall, filmed, relayed everywhere. The biggest winner in SLS history — 27 wins, 7 Super Crowns — is hospitalized at the start of the season.
His presence in Los Angeles on April 4 is not confirmed. This type of head trauma requires a minimum of 3 months of recovery. And Nyjah, at 31, no longer has to rush — Los Angeles 2028 is the real target.
His recovery went well. Tony Hawk sent him public support. But the SLS circuit isn’t waiting for him. If Nyjah isn’t in LA, Ginwoo plays the role of the undisputed favorite. And the other riders know it.

Other Contenders to Watch
Without Nyjah in the setup, the field opens up. And the list of guys capable of challenging Ginwoo is long.
SLS Los Angeles 2026 Contenders
Giovanni Vianna has the cleanest style on the circuit. Felipe Gustavo has consistency and experience. Chris Joslin — he’s home in Los Angeles, he knows the spots in this city better than anyone. If the setup plays to his advantage, he can pull off something big.
What’s Really at Stake in 2026
The SLS 2026 circuit has 7 stops before the Super Crown in December. Every point counts. And for French riders, there’s strategic info: an SLS stop in France is scheduled for October 2026. The first time the world’s most competitive street skateboarding circuit sets its ledges on our territory.
Los Angeles on April 4 will set the tone for this season. The XGL is already in place, the WST World Championships have delivered their verdict. Now it’s the SLS talking. And if Ginwoo confirms in LA what he started in Sydney, street skateboarding is about to crown a new king.
