The Stage 11 is the model that changed everything in 2009. Higher pivot, reinforced baseplate, firmer stock Cushion bushings. The only flaw? The price. Indys are consistently the most expensive of the three. And their turning responsiveness is lower than Thunder — if you're into super technical street skating, you'll find they respond slower.

Thunder — the street choice

Venture geometry offers more stability than Thunder, but less responsiveness. If you're starting out, that's exactly what you need — a predictable board that forgives bad landings. Ventures are also excellent for smooth transitions and mini-ramps, where stability trumps quickness.

The limit is real: as you progress to technical street skating, you'll feel that Ventures respond slower. That's when to switch to Thunder or Independent. But for your first 12 months of skateboarding, you don't need to spend more.
