His super fluid style and ease on a wide variety of Spots make him an iconic figure in skateboarding. He’s the ultimate all-around skater!

“Koston’s highly technical style has inspired a huge number of new generation skaters.”

Koston long skated for the famous shoe brand « éS », which created 3 pro models in his image: the famous « Koston 1 », then the 2 and 3.

His super fluid style and ease on a wide variety of « Spots » (curbs, quarters, handrails, gaps…) make Koston an iconic figure in skateboarding. He is the ultimate all-around skater, capable of landing a « Flip-trick » in switch (with reversed feet) and following it up with a grind on a five-meter ledge.

Over time, Koston focused more on his brand contracts and on preserving street skateboarding culture. His last professional victories were in 2007, when he won gold at « Tampa Pro » (Street Category), and also placed 5th at the X Games (Street Category).

With his skater friend « Guy Mariano », they recently launched a new skateboarding brand, « Numbers Edition »!

Eric Koston – Star Skater

Eric Koston’s fame isn’t limited to skateboarding or marketing; he’s in all the dedicated skateboarding games, including the legendary Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater (2, 3, 4, and HD), Tony Hawk’s Underground (1 and 2), and the Skate franchise (Skate It, Skate 2, and Skate 3).

Highlights

Koston isn’t just a genius skater; he also has a great sense for the industry. His career proves it: a real skateboarding success story!

So, what has Eric been up to lately? The answer: pretty much everything! He co-owns an indoor skatepark in Los Angeles (The Berrics) with professional skater Steve Berra, as well as a website of the same name offering helmet-cam skateboarding videos and supporting all popular social media platforms.

The Berrics has hosted countless media campaigns and brand sponsorships, including the epic « Battle at the Berrics » (a professional version of Game of SKATE, 2008-2017) sponsored by DVS Shoes. Always a camera favorite, Eric featured in the 2013 skateboarding documentary The Motivation and over 55 short skateboarding films from various promotions throughout his career. As The Berrics was considered the main influence for Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory, Eric guest-starred in earlier episodes.

His partnership with Nike SB continued, resulting in 2 additional shoe models named after Koston, and he was in heavy rotation on their official YouTube channel. In November 2015, Eric ended his longest-standing relationship, with Girl Skateboards, as he and Guy Mariano moved on. They had been founding members of the team and had ridden for Girl Skateboards for 22 years.

Although they haven’t announced any new affiliations to date, rumors circulated that Eric had been seen on Skate Mental and WKD boards, though in 2016, he was seen on a Fucking Awesome board in a promotion with Nike. To this day, Eric still has an impressive number of sponsorships, including; Nike SB, Independent Truck Company, Spitfire Wheels, Fourstar Clothing, Diamond, Supreme, Oakley, Jessup, Skull Candy,

Not one to be left behind on or off the ramp, Eric has an impressive social media impact factor with over 750,000 Instagram followers, 270,000 Twitter followers, and although he doesn’t have a dedicated YouTube channel, thousands of videos of his skating and career promotions can be found on the video-sharing site. He is an ambassador for Saint Archer Brewing Co. (founded by Australian surfer Josh Kerr and American professional skaters Mikey Taylor and Paul Rodriguez). The years have also brought a family into his life, as Eric and his (then) girlfriend Ashlee Gaston welcomed June Marie Koston into the world on May 4, 2009. He and Ashlee then married in 2012, and to this day, he has a net worth of 8 million dollars.

Having escaped much of the chronic pain issues and career-ending injuries common in the professional skateboarding industry, Eric has come a long way since the kid who learned to skate in his own driveway, and the future couldn’t be brighter.

THE PARTS

Eric Koston is one of the great references in street skateboarding, incredibly impressive when it comes to becoming one with the asphalt.
Eric Koston made his appearance in 2007 in the latest Lakai Fully Flared video. His « part » was one of the most acclaimed in the video. But he left the Lakai shoe brand, which had released the Fully Flared video, for various reasons and joined the Nike SB Team as a Shoe Sponsor.

In 2012, a video called « Pretty Sweet » was released; it was the very last video from the Girl team, in association with the Chocolate Team, but Eric Koston has a rather small part in it. Which makes sense, as he was nearing the end of his career. In February 2016, he had a part in the Nike SB Chronicles Vol. 3 video.
